“I was visiting friends in Reno a few years ago and they have a mini art studio in their garage — they had just moved into this new house and I was handed a canvas and told to make something. Ten minutes later without even thinking I smeared out an incredible seated monk figure, it was so good I thought about asking if I could take it home and make them something else because I really have no idea what I did. This is one of the many attempts to recreate that moment, I really like this once because there’s aggression on the edges of the paint yet the figure is calm and centered. That’s what I see, you can see what you like.”
This print is made to order, just for you. This allows us to offer a much wider selection of Mike's work in multiple sizes with the downside being that it will take a few days to ship out. Most print orders will ship in 3-5 business days (a week or less). If you are also ordering original art you can expect that to be hand packed and shipped by Mike immediately and the orders will arrive separately.
This is an official limited Mike Wehner art print, only 125 total prints will be made and they are printed on musuem quality matte fine art paper. This print will ship in a tube, unframed. Mike uses the MW monogram as his signature and it is sometimes hidden int he piece. This edition is not numbered, Mike doesn’t want the later prints to feel bad about themselves and feels it’s an antiquated convention.. The technical details of the paper can be found below.
