A note from Mike on this piece:
“This one was 18x24 originally. It’s a wet on dry technique to get those solid layers, meaning you let it dry and add paint and then repeat 10-20 times. It’s really fun to make something that takes two weeks but you are only actually painting a few hours. I’d highly suggest beginning palette knife painters start with a workflow that looks something like that. All of my realism portraits are wet in wet which can be VERY discouraging to learn, it’s just so, uh, fussy. =) ”
This print is made to order, just for you. This allows us to offer a much wider selection of Mike's work in multiple sizes with the downside being that it will take a few days to ship out. Most print orders will ship in 3-5 business days (a week or less). If you are also ordering original art you can expect that to be hand packed and shipped by Mike immediately and the orders will arrive separately.
This is an official limited Mike Wehner art print, only 125 total prints will be made and they are printed on musuem quality matte fine art paper. This print will ship in a tube, unframed. Mike uses the MW monogram as his signature and it is sometimes hidden int he piece. This edition is not numbered, Mike doesn’t want the later prints to feel bad about themselves and feels it’s an antiquated convention.. The technical details of the paper can be found below.
